Canadian Privacy Rights
Your rights
Residents of Canada have certain privacy rights as specified under Canadian law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), British Columbia's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), and Quebec's Privacy Act. Our Privacy Principles and the privacy controls we offer to all users are in line with these laws—this notice makes sure we cover the Canada-specific requirements.

A. Right to Access
You have the right to know whether we process your personal information. You can make a request to access the categories or specific pieces of personal and sensitive personal information we collected, used, or shared about you. Along with your verified request, we will give you any categories of sources from which the personal or sensitive personal information is collected; the purpose for collecting, selling, or sharing; and any categories of third parties with whom we share such personal information.
B. Right to Rectification
You have the right to correct inaccuracies in the personal information we collect from you, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes for which we process it.
C. Right of Object
You may opt-out of the collection of your personal data for marketing purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We may need certain types of data so that we can provide our Services to you. If you ask us to delete it, you may no longer be able to access or use our Services.
We do not engage in profiling decision based on your personal information that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
D. Additional Rights
Depending on your province, you may have additional rights, including the right to control the dissemination of your personal information, right to data portability and right to be informed of and submit observations regarding automated decision-making. You may also have the right to deletion, if the personal data is no longer needed for any purposes that justify its retention and we are no required by law to retain it, we will do what we can to delete.
Other Disclosures
TVS as Personal Information Agent
TVS as a credit report agency collects applicants, tenants and residents (Consumer) credit file or credit report from Credit Bureaus which may consist of one or more of the following:
- 1. individual identification information
- 2. file inquiries
- 3. public record information
- 4. credit history tradelines
The request for generating consumer credit file or credit report comes from our Clients who are responsible for obtaining your consent prior to submitting their request to us.
The consumer credit file or credit report are then disclosed to our Clients for purposes of their own verification of your creditworthiness and in accordance with the consent you provided
Data Accuracy
The Clients supply us with Consumer personal information, and they acknowledge and agree that the credit file and report generated about the Consumers are obtained from third-party sources.
We are committed to protecting the security of Consumer personal information in order to prevent accidental or unlawful alteration or data loss, preserving the integrity of the personal information we hold about the Consumers.
All Consumers whose personal information we hold have the right to access, verify its accuracy and have any outdated or inaccurate data corrected, particularly in light of our role as a Personal Information Agency. More specifically, any Consumers in respect of whom TVS has received a credit file or report is entitled to contact us in order to have access to these reports.
Access and Rectification of Credit File or Report
To consult regarding your credit file or credit report, dispute any inaccuracy or error, request for correction or a copy of the same, you may contact our Data Protection Officer via email at [email protected]. In the subject line, include “Canada Credit Report Consumer Request”.
Note in the body of the email your request related to your credit file or credit report together with your full name, address and date of birth which we will use to pull up your record. To protect the privacy and security of your personal information, we will attempt to verify your identity before acting on your request.
